The Georgia Milestones Assessment System, also known as Milestones or GMAS, is a state testing program that measures how well students have mastered the Georgia Standards of Excellence and Georgia’s K-12 Mathematics Standards.
The assessments are administered to students in grades 3-12 across various subjects, including English language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies. The Milestones are designed to assess students’ readiness for the next level of learning, be it the next grade, course, college, or career.
The Georgia Milestones exams are administered in person primarily on the computer which means the assessments include technology enhanced items.
The exams are given in the late spring with retests given in the early summer.
The Georgia Milestones End of Grade assessments are given to students in grades 3-5. ELA and math assessments are given to students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade. Students in 5th grade also take a science assessment.
Start by reviewing the Milestones assessment guides and study guides provided by the Georgia Department of Education to understand the test’s content and structure. Then, create your own questions and assessments to help students with the topic they need to study.
