About SC READY Testing
The South Carolina College-and-Career-Ready (SC READY) Assessments are statewide tests that measure how well students have mastered the South Carolina College- and Career-Ready (SCCCR) Standards.
SC READY assessments are administered online. Paper exams are administered only in certain situation for students with specific accommodations.
For elementary students, SC READY exams are given in the last 20 school days as determined by the district’s instructional calendar.
In elementary school, the SC READY is administered in grades 3-5 for ELAR (English Language Arts Reading) and Math. Students in 4th grade take a science exam, and students in 5th grade take a social studies exam.
However, due to a provision in the General Appropriations Bill, social studies exams for grades 3-8 will not take place in 2024-2025 school year.
How Do You Prepare for SC READY Assessments?
Start by reviewing the sample items and test blueprints on ed.sc.gov to understand the test’s content and structure. Then, create your own questions and assessments to help students with the topic they need to study.
