Engage in argument from evidence to compare the characteristics of several common ecosystems (including estuaries and salt marshes, oceans, lakes and ponds, rivers and streams, forests, and grasslands) in terms of their ability to support a variety of populations.
The North Carolina End-of-Grade (EOG) Tests are designed to measure student performance on the goals, objectives, and grade-level competencies specified in the North Carolina Standard Course of Study (NCSCOG).
End of Grade assessments in North Carolina are given to elementary students in the final 10 instructional days of the school year.
Students in grades 3-5 must complete testing in reading and mathematics. Additionally, students in grade 5 are tested in science in the areas of Forces and Motion, Matter, Energy conservation and transfer, Earth Systems, structures, and processes, Structures and functions of living organisms, Ecosystems, Evolution and Genetics.
Regular assessments of standards-aligned material can help students make up knowledge gaps ahead of NCSCOG testing.
