What Is Progress Learning?

About Nevada Testing

The Smarter Balanced Summative Assessment (SBAC) is a series of standardized tests administered under the state of Nevada’s Academic Content Standards (NVACS)

These assessments are usually administered each spring, and provide an ongoing measurement of students’ progress in each assessed area, and provide a foundation for future learning support.

These assessments are given in Math and English Language Arts each year for grades 3-8. There is also a Science Assessment given to elementary school students in grade 5.

How Do You Prepare for the Smarter Balanced Summative Assessment?

Interactive Practice Questions

Help students get familiar with the specific format and types of questions they’ll find on the exam with practice questions that interactively respond to student input. Progress Learning can help by providing standards aligned practice to help students prepare for testing.

Skills-Based Learning Modules

Focus on standards-aligned skills within the Nevada Academic Content Standards, tailored to each elementary grade level

Official Practice Tests

The Nevada Department of Education offers a free practice test for each content area and grade level, in the exact format of the real test

Managing Multi-State Standards

While the Smarter Balanced Summative Assessment format is used in over a dozen states, from California to Delaware, the Nevada Science Assessment is state-specific. That’s just one of the reasons it’s essential to use a standards-aligned teaching resource like Progress Learning to ensure you’re helping support students in the specific standards they need to excel.
