SAT® Case Study: Chaffey Joint Union High School District



Supporting Students on the SAT

The Chaffey Joint Union High School District is the 3rd largest union high school district in California, supporting over 25,000 students in grades 9-12. Progress Learning has been a partner of CJUHSD since 2015 and this year CJUHSD expanded their after school SAT® readiness support programs to include school day College Prep Elective – SAT® Course integration.

For the 2018/19 school year, CJUHSD partnered with Progress Learning to provide SAT® prep support to all 8 comprehensive high schools. The program entailed providing Professional Development to 27 CJUHSD teachers. Progress Learning provided the teacher training, curriculum, assessments, and reporting for all participating teachers to run their own stand-alone SAT® readiness course (before or after school).

Course Overview

  • Six week before-school or after-school readiness course
  • 15+ hours of prep instruction
  • 3 practice SAT® assessments with comprehensive student and classroom level score reports
  • In-person professional development training for 27 CJUHSD teachers
  • 87% of students increased their total SAT® score by completing the readiness course
