The Alabama Comprehensive Assessment Program (ACAP) is a statewide, computer-based assessment program that measures how well students have mastered Alabama Course of Study standards.
The ACAP summative assessments are administered digitally on the computer. In middle schools, the ACAP is given once per year in the spring.
In middle school, students take the ELAR and Math ACAP in grades 6-8 and the Science ACAP in grades 6 and 8.
Start by reviewing the sample items, practice tests, and test blueprints on the ACAP summative portal to understand the test’s content and structure. Then, create your own questions and assessments to help students with the topic they need to study. Progress Learning makes specific AL CoS aligned practice and exam review easy with a variety of tools for teachers, including a comprehensive assessment and assignment builder.
For middle school educators, your approach to ACAP test prep may vary by student and subject. Consider forming small groups, incorporating gamification into your instruction, or scheduling daily practice time to keep students engaged. By tailoring your teaching strategy to your students, you will improve their CoS mastery and boost their ACAP performance.
