What Is Progress Learning?

About KSA Testing

Kentucky students take the Kentucky Summative Assessments (KSA) throughout their academic journey from 3rd grade until 11th grade in certain subjects at certain grade levels. The KSA exams are intended to assess students’ mastery of the Kentucky Academic Standards (KAS).

The KSA exams are administered annually in the spring between late March and late May depending on the campus, grade level, and subject.

Kentucky students take the Kentucky Summative Assessments (KSA) throughout their academic journey. High school students in grade 10 are assessed on reading and mathematics. Grade 11 students are assessed on science, social studies and writing. Additionally, 11th grade students are required to take the ACT.

How Do You Prepare for the KSA Exams?

Identify Problem Areas

Regular assessments of standards-aligned material can help students make up knowledge gaps ahead of KSA testing.

Employ Targeted Intervention

Create individual study and practice testing in students’ weak areas.

Practice Testing

Help students get more comfortable sitting for testing windows and answering questions. Progress Learning can help by providing standards aligned practice to help students prepare for testing.
