What Is Progress Learning?

About MAAP Testing

The Mississippi Academic Assessment Program (MAAP) is a statewide assessment program that measures how well students have mastered Mississippi College- and Career-Readiness standards.

For high school students, the MAAP assessments are given after the course is taken in both the Fall and the Spring. For the 2024-2025 school year, they will take place in December 2024 and between the end of March and mid-May 2025.

In high school, the MAAP is administered in Algebra I, Biology I, English II, and U.S. History.

The ACT is also mandatory for all 11th graders in Mississippi public schools. This allows students to demonstrate their college readiness and provides educators and parents with valuable information to make informed decisions about students’ futures. Progress Learning provides support for both MAAP and ACT exams.

How Do You Prepare for MAAP?

Start by reviewing the sample items, practice tests, and test blueprints on mdek12.org to understand the test’s content and structure. Then, create your own questions and assessments to help students with the topic they need to study. Progress Learning makes specific MS CCR aligned practice and exam review easy with a variety of tools for teachers, including a comprehensive assessment and assignment builder.

For high school educators, your approach to MAAP test prep may vary by student and subject. Consider reviewing specific topics during class periods or dedicating time for focused study sessions or one-on-one tutoring. By tailoring your teaching strategy to your students, you will improve their CCRS mastery and boost their MAAP performance.

"This is one of a very few programs to align to our MS standards so specifically. The data we receive from our assignments and assessments allows us to make FURTHER assignments based on the needs shown through the program’s “Dot” system. This dot system is an easy visual for both teachers and students, as it shows color-coded areas of strengths and weaknesses. With the click of a button, you can assign the top 3 weakest areas to individual students."
