What You Get With Progress Learning
End of Course (EOC) exames are standards aligned assessments given to high school students in the state of Ohio. Some of these exams (such as Algebra I and English Language Arts II) are tied to graduation requirements in addition to industry credentials or community service requirements.
EOC exams are usually administered online using the Test Delivery System (TDS), though some districts might offer paper versions depending on the needs of students. The Ohio Department of Education offers testing windows in fall, spring, and summer to offer schools flexibility and give students the opportunity for retakes.
Students are administered the Algebra I, English Language Arts II, Geometry (or Integrated Mathematics II, Biology, American Government, and American History EOCs in the years they complete those courses.
High school age students should focus on incorporating EOC practice exams into their regular study schedule, alongside educators aligning their lessons with state standards. High school students should also practice good test-taking skills, like time management, stress reduction, and process of elimination.
For educators, the Ohio Department of Education releases roughly half of its test items to help students understand what to expect on assessments. Teachers can use these resources alongside benchmark assessments and checkpoints tests offered on the ODE website.
