About TCAP Testing

Tennessee Comprehensive Assessment Program (TCAP) has been the state’s testing program since 1988, and assesses mastery in math, English language arts, social studies, and science, as well as alternative assessments, like MSAA and TCAP-Alt, for students with special needs.

TCAP End of Course Assessments take place once per semester after each course. For the fall, this is between December 2nd and December 19th. For the following spring, this is April 13th through May 8th.

High school students in Tennessee complete TCAP End-of-Year Assessments in:

  • English I
  • English II
